André Lotterer, born on November 19, 1981, in Duisburg, Germany, is a highly skilled German racing driver known for his accomplishments in endurance racing and his involvement in Formula E. Lotterer rose to prominence in endurance racing with Audi Sport, where he won the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans three times (2011, 2012, 2014) alongside teammates Marcel Fässler and Benoît Tréluyer. His success in endurance racing extended to the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), where he also claimed the drivers' title in 2012. In addition to endurance racing, Lotterer has competed in Formula 1, making a one-off appearance with Caterham in 2014.
